It’s been a challenging year for the iconic songstress Jennifer Lopez. Not only did 2024 bring the breakdown of her marriage to Ben Affleck—announced last month with the couple filing for divorce—but she also canceled her highly anticipated North American tour before it even began.
The setbacks didn’t stop there, as some fans have now dubbed her the worst dressed at this year’s Toronto Film Festival. The awards ceremony, held last week, drew numerous A-list celebrities.
Among them was JLo, who seems to be navigating a particularly tough time in her life. The 55-year-old arrived in a dazzling disco ball-inspired dress, aiming to captivate everyone on the red carpet.
While she certainly made a statement, not all observers were impressed. The metallic Tamara Ralph dress, which featured exposed sides and was fastened with black velvet bows, sparked criticism online, with many labeling her as ‘worst dressed.’
Lopez attended the Toronto Film Festival for the premiere of her new film, Unstoppable, which she collaborated on with Affleck. Unsurprisingly, Affleck was absent from the event, reportedly due to other work commitments, considering the recent turmoil in their relationship.
Though Lopez has always embraced the spotlight, this particular disco ball dress was particularly eye-catching. As soon as she hit the red carpet, opinions flooded social media, and many were less than flattering.
As previously mentioned, Lopez filed for divorce a few weeks ago, following months of speculation about her and Affleck’s troubled marriage. The couple, who had appeared to be on a fairytale path after their surprise Las Vegas wedding in 2022, had long shown signs that things were not well.
Both have been spotted without their wedding rings at various times this year, and rumors have circulated that Affleck moved out of their Beverly Hills home. Meanwhile, Lopez cited a need to spend more time with her family as the reason for canceling her planned tour.
